Pavillon Horizon
A lakeside cultural pavilion conceived as a space floating between sky and water, where architecture becomes a sensory and visual experience.
Pavillon Horizon takes its inspiration from the horizon line. Built on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, it presents itself as a light, floating structure: a venue for temporary exhibitions and artistic experiences.
The choice of materials — polished steel, translucent glass and light-coloured concrete — creates an interplay of light that changes throughout the day. The curved roof echoes the ripples of the lake, while the interior offers a flexible space open to creative possibilities.
The pavilion is also a place to escape, a pause within the city where every step brings visitors closer to the surrounding natural landscape.
3D modelling allows us to explore form and light. The transparency of the glass, the mirror-like steel and the soft lines of the roof take shape, reflecting the horizon and capturing the play of light on the water.
In daylight, Pavillon Horizon blends into the natural landscape. Its light, glazed structure catches reflections of water and sky, creating a sense of calm transparency. The curved rooflines and cast shadows reinforce the impression of an elegant structure floating within the landscape.
